Why regular cleaning matters

Dirt, oils and everyday chemicals dull metal and gemstones. Gentle cleaning preserves brilliance and reduces wear — especially for delicate settings, antique pieces and heirlooms.

  • Prevents buildup that can loosen stones
  • Removes harsh residues from lotions & perfumes
  • Restores finish without over-polishing

At-home cleaning — safe, step-by-step

  1. Mix warm water with a mild dish soap.
  2. Soak jewellery for 10–15 minutes; use a soft brush for settings.
  3. Rinse in clean water and pat dry with a lint-free cloth.
  4. For matte or brushed finishes, avoid abrasive cloths to retain texture.

Note: Porous gems (opals, pearls, turquoise) require specialist care — avoid soaking; consult our studio.

FAQs

*** — avoid soaking pearls, opals and some treated stones. Seek studio advice for delicate or treated gems.

We recommend an annual check for engagement rings and valuable pieces; busy-worn items may need checking every 6 months.

Rhodium plating renews white gold appearance but wears over time. It is not suitable for yellow gold or for some artisan finishes.
